Direct Marketing Services

In today's competitive marketplace, a business must be efficient in all areas of marketing. It must attract new customers while maintaining old ones. Direct marketing is the only advertising media that allows you to do both. There are four main methods of direct marketing telephone sales, face-to-face-selling, direct mail and Internet marketing. Internet marketing is fast becoming the method of choice by direct marketers. A company that sales directly to the consumer can eliminate up to two levels of middlemen.

Direct mail allows a company to select from a consumer or business owners list and can target potential customers according to age, occupation, gender, income or neighborhood. It lets companies target niche markets that maybe closed to their competitors. Direct mail is one of the most effective marketing tools a small business can use, but the high cost of postage, and other cost associated with mailings, has hindered wide spread use by small and home based business owners, until now. The NAHBB joint marketing program uses direct market mailers, to advertise and promote member businesses. The NAHBB authorizes two types of multi-inserted mailers, the Home Business IntroPack Mailer and the AdverMailer Advertiser. IntroPack Mailers are mailed directly to home base business owners and individuals who seek business opportunities. The AdverMailer Advertiser is a consumer and business mailer. However, it specializes in mailings to households in local communities.

These multi-inserted mailers allow small businesses to combine their financial resources and mail jointly. Using a multi-inserted mailer is an excellent way for a small business to mail to both consumers and businesses. Direct mail is perhaps one of the most affective tools a small business can use to reach new and old customers.

In the United States there are an estimated 55 million people who work from home. Approximately a third of that number is considered home-based businesses. The US Commerce Department states that 50% of all small businesses in the United States are home based. Home Based Businesses is the largest and the fastest growing niche market in the United States and now the world. Because home managed businesses and others who work from home are so difficult to reach, the NAHBB has established a Niche Market Access Program to assist companies who offer high-quality products/services and who want to reach them. It will include group-marketing services using the Internet, direct mail, e-commerce and special event participation. To be successful today, both large and small companies must shelter a large portion of their customers from their competitors. Building a niche market access program will allow a company to achieve separation from their competition.
